Introducing GenomDB

Genomic data storage is becoming an increasing concern due to the affordability of sequencing going down, along with the usefulness of genomic data going up. Because of this, genomic data is growing rapidly.

Current genomic data storage solutions are not tailored specifically to genomic data. Services like Hadoop or WEKA are great for storing or processing large volumes of generic data, but are not designed specifically for genomic data. This leaves open gaps for engineering a database specifically designed for genomic data.

This is where GenomDB comes in. A distributed database designed to store genomic data, and provide smart indexes that make querying data highly efficient.
